The alloy surcharge is a price component for alloyed stainless steels which is charged in addition to the basic price by steel producers. The alloy surcharge is updated monthly. The alloy surcharge depends on the price development of the alloying elements, the exchange rates and the product type. Thus, a separate alloy surcharge is shown for wire, cold wide strip and the more expensive cold strip (precision strip). Spring steel strip is generally referred to as precision strip. In the case of spring steel strip with the material number 1.4310, a further distinction is made between normal strip and strip with an increased molybdenum content.
Foundation of Stahl-Becker
Hermann Becker founds the company Stahl-Becker in 1925 in Frankfurt/Main.
With a small storehouse Hermann Becker sets up a company, whose big success is based on a gap in the market: selling small quantities instead of high tonnages!
In 1943/44 the firm suffers a big set-back shortly before the end of the second world war: most of the storehouse is destroyed by an aerial mine.
After the war, Hermann Becker starts his business from scratch and focuses on trading with spring steel.
Continuation by Günter Becker
In 1987 his son Günter Becker takes over the company. Due to his experience from working in the automotive industry he is able to develop the company to become a well known business partner in Germany and abroad.
Stahl-Becker moves to Heusenstamm and is known throughout Germany.
Integration into Sietzy-Gruppe
In spring 2001 Günter Becker decides to leave the business step by step. He hands over the company management to the Sietzy family who already have 30 years of experience in the steel trade
Today the customer can expect an extensive stock of spring strip steel and spring steel wire of all grades for immediate delivery, as well as a range of special materials
Expansion of the capabilities for the production of springs and bent parts
In November 2019, Stahl-Becker expands its own production capacities with the acquisition of Peter Uftring Industriefedern GmbH and is now able to manufacture complex springs and bent parts in small and medium series in-house
the now existing, high-performance wire straightening system from Wafios makes it possible to straighten a wide range of specifications quickly and flexibly - for in-house use or on a contract basis.
